How to Use Manual Feed In CED Printers

Read the specifications and instructions below before manually feeding sheet paper into CED printers.

Print on paper not supplied by CED at your own risk. Loading unsupported paper or loading any type of paper incorrectly may result in poor print quality or damage the printer, taking it offline for everyone.

Before you start always check the following:

• Printer is powered on and not in use
• No existing paper jams
• Media type is supported (see below)
• File is sent via Direct Print from a CED computer

LaserJet 700 M712 (B/W), LaserJet M806 (B/W), Color LaserJet M855

Manual Feed Instructions: These instructions apply to all laser b/w and color printers within the studios and labs. 

Note: To use the manual feed tray you must print using direct print from a CED computer.

1. 1. Open file (recommended: Adobe Acrobat)
   2. Select printer
   3. Click Properties
   4. Set Paper Source → Manual Feed (Tray 1)
   5. Set Paper Type (e.g., Cardstock, Labels)
   6. Click Print
   7. Go to printer
   8. Insert sheet into Tray 1
   9. Adjust guides snugly
   10. Follow on-screen prompts

• Supported Non-HP Paper Types: Always select the closest equivalent HP-brand paper when loading non-HP paper. In general, these broad categories of non-HP paper are supported, provided you select the closest equivalent HP paper profile:
  • Matte Paper - General-Purpose
  • Natural Tracing Papers
  • Thin Papers (< 90 g/m²)
  • Light Coated Papers (< 110 g/m²)
  • Heavyweight Coated Papers (< 200 g/m²)
  • Cockle-Free, Very Thick Coated Papers (> 200 g/m²)
  • Matte Paper - Photographic
  • Glossy Paper
  • Translucent Paper
  • Transparent Film
